Time to up your candle game for cosy season. There’s nothing sexier than being in the crib watching a flick, sipping wine, with a waft of a sensuous candle in the air. I picked three of my favorite candles and paired with wines. 🕯️ Harlem After Dark Notes: Bourbon vanilla, saffron, bergamot Vibe: Late-night jazz lounge, velvet dress, slow burn seduction. Wine Pairing: Creamy, sultry white or dessert wine Think Viognier, Gewürztraminer, or a Bourbon barrel–aged Chardonnay. The vanilla and warm spices in the candle mirror the rich, exotic aromatics in the glass. If you want full decadence? Sauternes—sweet, golden, and scandalous. Sugar says: When the lights go low and the secrets get sweet… sip something that melts on the tongue. 🕯️ Apotheke Charcoal Notes: Cedarwood, sandalwood, oud, amber Vibe: Penthouse at midnight. Leather jacket on silk sheets. Shadowy, smoky, powerful. Wine Pairing: Bold, dark red This candle is big energy, so it needs structure: Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Tempranillo, or a smoky Rioja Reserva. Want drama? Super Tuscan or Malbec—rich, wood-aged, with long-lingering tannins. Sugar Says: The kind of sip that feels like a secret meeting and tastes like trouble. 🕯️ Boy Smells Hinoki Fantôme Notes: Japanese cypress, jasmine, smoked amber Vibe: Zen temple meets haunted forest. Ethereal + mysterious. Soft but haunting. Wine Pairing: Elegant, earthy, aromatic Think Pinot Noir (especially from Burgundy or Sonoma Coast) or a light Nebbiolo—delicate florals with a smoky, forest-floor undertone. Prefer white? Unoaked Chardonnay or high-end sake for a clean, meditative pairing. Sugar Says: A whisper of smoke, a breath of blossoms, and a glass that tastes like moonlight on skin.

It's #SparklingWineSunday, time to get in some bubbles. For those of you who aren't doing Champagne, but want the Champagne vibes, the Segura Viudas Cava Brut Reserva Heredad is one for you. This wine is one of my fave bottle of bubbles. The full-bodied Cava from Penedès is made in the traditional method (like Champagne), however you are going to get a blend of Spanish grapes: 60% Macabeo, 20% Chardonnay, 10% Parellada, 10% Xarel·lo. It's elegant on the palate and pairs with cheese, roast chicken, fish, black truffles, popcorn, the list goes on and on. It runs around $35 a bottle. BOOM! It's a great wine for anytime...don't wait for a "special occasion", every day that you get to be you is special enough, so pop a bottle. What's your fizz fetish? Cheers, XOXO Shosh 💋 It's #SparklingWineSunday and today I'm going with some bubbles by La Vieille Ferme aka as their Sparkling Blanc (sample). I discovered this fabulous French farm-sh table wine years ago and it's been one of my favorites ever since. The Famille Perrin makes the wine and is one of the leading producers in the Southern Rhône Valley of France.
For over 40 years La Vieille Ferme has been bringing yummy affordable wine for every day pairings. It's what I'd like to think of as a down low "sugar daddy in a glass". While the wines are affordable, they can be paired with bougie food and make you feel fancy. A few years ago they released their Sparkling Blanc, a blend of 90 % Chardonnay and 10 % Ugni Blanc. It gives good flirty bubbles on the palate with notes of fruit and brioche bread. The best part is a bottle only runs around $13.99. You can sip as is or throw in a little Chambord or St. Germain. I'm throwing in some violette liqueur and loving it. Great for sipping on Sunday! La Vielle Ferme are wines that you can open anytime and anywhere. Get them in! |
