Nightlife has always been iconic in New York City. No one ever gets tired of talking about clubs like Studio 54 or Limelight. It’s such a hot topic that documentaries and even movies have centered around the glitz and glamor of it all.

Clearly, nightlife has changed due to other options. While some proclaim that nightlife in NYC is dead, others declare that it’s just being reinvented. There are new lounges and clubs popping up every day. As you try and figure out which ones you are going to check out make sure you put Two Fifteen on your list. It’s a hot new bar lounge at The Public Hotel on the Lower East Side.

Two nightlife legends,an Schrager and Nur Khan, are behind this chic cocktail lounge. The two partnered in 2006 at the Rose Bar at the Gramercy Park Hotel which was a hot spot for performers like Jack White, Rufis Wainwright and Liza Minelli. If anyone knows how to bring on a glam experience it’s Schrager and Khan.

The lounge just reopened with a little facelift to bring new upholstered sexy black seats, new cocktail menu, and shiny chandeliers. It gives off a film noir kind of vibe as soon as you walk through the door. There’s even a fireplace to enjoy on brisk nights. It’s the kind of place where people go to be seen or simply go to spend time with grown and sexy people.

The cocktail list is created by Master Mixologist, Charlotte Voisey, who’s accolades include Best American Brand Ambassador and two times Golden Spirit Award winner at Tales of the Cocktail. The menu is broken down in 4 sections: Champagne Cocktails, Modern Twists on Classics, Drinks with Vibrant Colors, and Spirit- Free. The list is quite extensive so there is something for everyone. For those who are living their best Gossip Girl life, you can request bottle service, cocktail tray service, and tableside preparations.

The cocktail game is fabulous. I especially got into the Smoked Mezcal Margarita and the Rose Vesper. I would venture to say that the Vesper was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. If you aren’t in the mood for a cocktail, get a glass of Champagne. Their bubbly list has you covered.

Since you will be sipping something sexy, you will get the munchies. There is a light bites menu to assist if you feel peckish. Menu includes items such as spring rolls, empanadas, shrimp cocktail, and oysters.

There is also entertainment. There are different DJs each night and other musical guests will be scheduled. With all the world class DJs in the city, it’s guaranteed to be turnt up in the evenings.

If you want to sit, get there a little early. Sure, it’s great to stand and be part of the action. To keep it real, if you are wearing heels, a seat is going to come in handy at some part of the night. It’s also great to sit and people watch. You never know who else is in the room. Don’t just take my word for it, check it out for yourself. It's a good choice if you are with girlfriends or a group of friends. It may be a bit too much stimulation for a first date if you are just getting to know someone. But then again, if you are both into the nightlife, it’s the perfect place to go.
