MarieBelle Chocolate's Cacao Bar

When you pass by MarieBelle New York in Tribeca, the scent of cocoa and vanilla fills the air.  The has been a staple in NYC for the past year. The company was founded by the ever charming, MarieBelle Lieberman.  She’s known as the Empress of Chocolate, but I like to think of her as the “Bruja of Chocolate”. The world experience that she has created is quite magickal!

One could say that Lieberman was destined to be in the world of chocolate. She grew up in Honduras where they are known for their  cacao fields.While she left the fashion world for food and chocolate, it’s clear that she brought a part of her love of fashion into her shop. As you walk into MarieBelle, it is a delight to the senses. As MarieBelle says: “Life is all about the pleasure and happiness we find in food, art, and beauty”.

​What you may not realize is that in the back of their Soho location is a quaint café called the Cacao Bar, where you can fill your hunger with French inspired sandwiches and chocolate treats. It will make you feel like you have been transported to Paris or Vienna. I opted for the Croque Madame. It’s a classic French sandwich is one of my favorites. It’s a mix of ham, gruyere, and bechamel sauce on a grilled bread. There are other sandwich options or you can get a quiche or savory crepe. You can even go there for high tea. What you really have to try is one of the hot or iced chocolates. It will be hard to decide which one you want to try.

Whether you live in NYC or in the city for a visit, MarieBelle is a place to visit.
