Pleasure & Pain Weekly Reading: September 7- September 13

Hey sugar,

Something strange is in the air—and perhaps that’s exactly what we need.

This week, we’re stepping into the wonderfully peculiar world of The Nightmare Before Christmas Tarot, where pumpkins glow, skeletons dream, and being a little different isn’t something to correct. It’s part of the magick.

Wherever you are in the world, this week’s energy asks a deceptively simple question: Are you pursuing what genuinely excites you, or have you become distracted by something simply because it’s new?

Curiosity can open extraordinary doors.

Just make sure you know why you’re walking through them.

Let’s dig in shall we….

MONDAY–TUESDAY
The Fool
Curiosity • Adventure • The Unknown

The week begins with Jack Skellington energy: What’s this?
Something unfamiliar catches your attention. A new idea, person, opportunity, or possibility could tempt you away from your usual routine. Explore it.

You don’t need to know exactly where something will lead before taking the first step. Just don’t confuse excitement with destiny. Some doors are meant to become new paths; others simply show us what’s on the other side.
Let yourself be curious without immediately becoming committed.

✨ Intuitive Insight:
Follow what fascinates you this week, but give yourself permission to explore without turning every spark into a life-changing decision.

WEDNESDAY–THURSDAY
Seven of Cups
Possibilities • Illusion • Discernment

By midweek, there may be too many choices—or something may look considerably better from a distance.
The Seven of Cups asks you to separate fantasy from possibility.

This is particularly important around promises, opportunities, relationships, and anything that appears almost too perfect.

Dreaming is delicious.Delusion? Considerably less so.
Look beyond the packaging before deciding what’s actually worth pursuing.

✨ Intuitive Insight:
Ask yourself: Do I want what is actually being offered—or the version of it I’ve created in my imagination?
That answer could save you considerable time.

FRIDAY–SUNDAY'
The Star
Hope • Authenticity • Renewal

The weekend brings us back to ourselves.
After exploring possibilities and questioning appearances, The Star offers clarity. Something feels simpler now.
You may reconnect with a dream you’d forgotten, rediscover something you genuinely love, or realize that you don’t need to become someone else to create a more interesting life.

There is freedom in returning to what feels authentically yours.

✨ Intuitive Insight:
Pay attention to what makes you feel more like yourself—not more impressive, desirable, successful, or acceptable to everyone else.

That’s where your magick lives.

---

This week asks you to surrender the belief that something different is automatically something better.

Surrender chasing novelty simply because you’re bored. Surrender romanticizing possibilities before you’ve experienced their reality.

Surrender trying to fit yourself into places that require you to become someone else.

You are allowed to explore. You are allowed to change your mind.

You are allowed to discover that the thing you’ve been searching for somewhere else was already waiting inside you.

After all, sometimes we travel all the way to Christmas Town only to discover there was still plenty of magick back in Halloween Town.

Stay curious. Stay peculiar. And above all, stay wonderfully yourself.

XO, Shosh 💋
